Tweetsie Railroad's No. 12 narrow gauge, coal-fired steam locomotive was built in 1917 for the East Tennessee and Western North Carolina Railroad (ET&WNC), which made runs from Johnson City, Tennessee to Boone, North Carolina. The museum contains historic memorabilia from the ET&WNC Railroad, artifacts from the 50-year theme park and Fred Kirby items. Tweetsie Railroad is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
