The Museum's exhibits reflect the lifestyles and stories of settlers in the region and depict a mountain county with abundance of rivers and cataracts, a county dubbed the Land of Waterfalls. The area's historical heritage is also kept alive through educational programs and cultural events. The Transylvania County Genealogical Society is also housed in the Museum. A genealogist is on-site on Wednesday afternoons or by appointment.
