The Museum preserves the history and heritage of Henderson County and the surrounding region in changing thematic exhibits. Rare artifacts, photographs, sketches, maps, graphic text and multi-media presentations tell the story of the wilderness, the Cherokee and early pioneers in the Wilderness to 1860. Other rooms tell the story of the county from 1860 to1920, including a Civil War exhibit in each theme. World War II is always represented in the room that covers the years from 1920 to today.
