The museum is located in the second oldest home in Caldwell County, the former home of Andrew Baird, the founder of Granite Falls. The museum displays the history of transportation, including the first road built, the coming of the railroad and the first car in Granite Falls. The museum also contains artifacts and historical documents on the history of the town.
